Very lovely traditional Rattles with engraved designs – they are handmade work from the Pucallpa jungle region by Ucayali river of Peru.
They are made by the ancient Shipibo-Conibo peoples of the Peruvian Amazon with their Ayahuasca inspired viosionary Artwork or Kené: rattles, textiles, clothing, ceramics, handicrafts, etc.
Rattles or Maracas as known in Peru are very popular traditional instruments, and worldwide as percussion instruments for music, and ceremonies for their sound, rhythm and singing Ikaros.
However, they are also used in some Amazonian traditions are healing tools during cleansing, limpiezas, healing, sacred ceremonies, ritual dances, or prayer circles. The traditional Shamanic tools also include Maraca rattles, Shacapas, or bird feathers.
Wonderfully textured and engraved wood, which are beautifully hand-crafted with care and attention.
Small size is approx 5cm width gourd and 6cm height.
